Wordpress switch ?

I've been toying with the idea of switching to Wordpress here, partly to compare blog software packages, and partly to become a little more familiar with WP, as I think I might also play with it at work (testing out blog software vs. one of the wiki packages vs. another open CMS package for a staff documenatation site). Now that I've seen the Connections theme available at WP Themes.info, I think the switch may come sooner rather than later. I've not finished poking through the WP Codex (which looks excellent - and uses what looks like a nice wiki package, too), so I haven't yet determined how much of a pain it'll be to convert from the MT-style archives and such to the WP setup (I've already imported most of my existing entries, which was a pretty painless process; looks like a little mucking about with a .htaccess file might make other conversions relatively easy w/o causing too many problems for the few people who might have linked to any previous entries).

I'm curious to hear any transition stories - both good and bad - from anyone else who's made the switch recently...
